Social Care Assistant 

(Additional Support Teams)

Opportunities have arisen in the Additional Support Teams within the Older People Residential Care Homes across the city.

Hours: You will be required to work flexibly between units within the Care Home to ensure staffing levels are maintained during break period. You'll be working 5 shifts over 7 and 2 weekends in 3. You will be allocated to a specific hub locations moving around the care home covering individuals staff member's tea breaks and meal breaks.

Social Care Assistant duties 

Providing assistance which promotes the physical social and emotional needs of older people and to undertake tasks which enable residents to develop individuality whilst recognising their rights to dignity, privacy and choice.

It is essential that you have the ability to work without supervision, be caring, tolerant, flexible, competent in English both written and spoken and be conversant with Health and Safety at Work legislation.

Previous experience of working with vulnerable service users is also essential.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment along with SSSC Registration. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 (as amended).
