The Team

The Banking & Finance team in Reading consists of one Partner and one Solicitor. We work in parallel with our London Banking & Finance Team which has two Partners and ten other fee earners. This means that there is the opportunity to get involved in a number of different transactions. We are also part of a nationwide team and there will also be the opportunity to work with members of the team in other offices.

The team acts for many of the UK's leading banks, other funders and the firm's commercial clients on a wide range of financial transactions, including structured finance and real estate finance. Most of the work undertaken by the team involves funding for a corporate or real estate transaction and many involve cross-border business activities.

The Role

This role will sit within the Banking & Finance team assisting on non contentious transactions. This will involve management of documents in relation to our transactions, drafting and negotiation of corporate and banking documents, including security, minutes and resolutions; registration of security; dealing with completions and completion mechanics, post completion administration and master files. Working within the team, there is the opportunity to broaden expertise and learning and develop skills with a view to assuming greater levels of responsibility.

Key Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will at least have a degree in law and will have ideally completed the LPC, and have experience of corporate transactional work and real estate finance. They should have the ability to work as part of a team whilst also being able to manage his/her own workload. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
