Magenta International are specialist recruiters in the Building Services maintenance sector and are currently looking for;
Vacancy: Electrician - Road Tunnel Network
Location: Hertfordshire
Reference: ERTM / DH10
Our client is an organisation responsible for the operation and maintenance of the M25 road network and they are currently looking an experienced Electrician to join their engineering support team based Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Team leader
To become conversant with the operation of all electrical/mechanical plant, within a network of road tunnels under both normal and emergency situations
Authorised to carry out switching on 11KV Systems
To be able to carry out Planned Maintenance and defect repair work on a range of electrical equipment which may include Pumps, Fans, lighting and associated control gear etc.
To complete any records as required, including daily worksheets, and maintenance report sheets on electronic maintenance planner
To read drawings and carry out fault finding and repairs within capabilities
To carry out Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance work within the capacity of an Electrical Technician.
Carry out any work of a manual, semi-skilled or skilled nature of any type of trade description (including "out of trade" work) under the instructions of the Maintenance Supervisor
Drive vehicles as required, for maintenance purposes
To observe all safety procedures and instructions
Any other duties within the capacity of a Maintenance Technician as requested by the maintenance supervisor / team leader
To observe all safety procedures and instructions and actively participate in maintaining a good safety culture.
Requirements:
Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
Relevant qualifications e.g. City & Guilds
17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations
HV Authorised Person
PASMA
Confined space trained
Inspection & Testing C&G 2391
CSCS Safety Card
ECS Card
IPAF
Valid driving licence
Experience
Knowledge and experience of general electrical maintenance works ideally from a commercial, factory or semi industrial environment
Fault finding using schematic drawings or industry approved processes/techniques
Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
To be computer literate preferably familiar with electronic building management control systems or SCADA
Ability to carry out electrical installation work to current legislation
Additional requirements
Working at other road tunnels within the motorway network as instructed
Expected to be available for a minimum of 6 quarterly night- time tunnel closures
(weekends Friday and Saturday nights) 28 closures
To be available as part of a /7 call out rota currently 1 week in 4
To reside a maximum 45 Minutes away from M25 Northern section
