Production Operative - Metal Drawing 
Birmingham, West Midlands 
Up to £20,000 DOE 

Our client is a leading global supplier of precious metals in gold, silver, platinum and palladium alloys. They are the UK's largest one-stop shop for the jewellery maker. 

As a Production Operative in the jewellery industry, you will be responsible for the production of precious metal tube. Working in a small team of four, you will report to a Team Leader, test your ability to meet tight deadlines and build your experience in manufacturing precious metals. 

In return, the company will provide you with on the job training, guidance and the support you need to build on your existing expertise. 

Your duties will include: 
- Making tube product following the standard processes 
- Breaking down wire prior to final drawing operation 
- Maintaining a high standard of quality 
- Ensuring products are produced to the customers’ specifications with minimal defects 
- Ensuring all relevant paperwork related to each job is completed in full, including the documentation of materials used 
- Maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring the immediate work area is kept to a high standard of cleanliness 
- Adhering to housekeeping standards at all times 
- Operating equipment to agreed Health and Safety standards 
- Carrying out stock control activities 
- Assisting with stock takes as and when required 

As the Production Operative, you will have: 
- Experience in production and/or engineering environment 
- The ability to prioritise and schedule work to meet demands set by the department, company or external customer 
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy 
- Effective team working skills 
- The ability to use initiative for independent work 
- Tube drawing experience would be an advantage 
- Knowledge and experience within the jewellery industry would be advantageous 
- Relevant manufacturing qualifications or equivalent would be beneficial 

Hours of work: 
Total 37.5 hours per week, working a pattern of Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 15:45, Friday 07:15 – 12:45 with a 30 minute lunch break each day.
