My client is a chilled food processor supplying to retailers, food manufacturers and food service customers.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Raw Meat Intake QA. Reporting directly to the site Technical Controller with a strong line into the Procurement Manager.
The successful candidate must be a reliable, positive person with a willingness to learn. They must have sound knowledge of basic food hygiene/health and safety principles. The candidate must have a HACCP Level 2, Food Safety Level 3 or working towards, Food Safety Certificate, an Auditor Qualification and a Health and Safety at Work Certificate.
This role is Monday to Friday working a shift of 7am-3pm. All applicants will need a UK Driving Licence as this role requires you to travel between sites.
Main Responsibilities
1. To maintain documented traceability for all raw meats entering the site.
2. To ensure that raw meats fully comply with specification, carrying out checks on all raw meats entering the site.
3. Ensure that all raw materials are from approved suppliers and flag up any issues with the relevant personnel.
4. Positive release of loads.
5. Ensure that all raw meat entering the site fully complies with the Food Safety Act.
6. Meat Hygiene Regulations and all relevant legislation.
7. Manage raw material quality issues at intake, liaising with relevant personnel and suppliers as required.
8. Maintain Quality Attribute System, carrying out assessments on all raw meat entering the site to an established frequency.
9. Establish good working relations with technical & production management teams, logistics dept & purchasing dept.
10. Vehicle hygiene & temperature monitoring.
11. Consignment documentation checks.
12. Microbiological/Chemical Test sampling as required.
13. Stock Control Audits.
14. GMP Audits: Raw intake, coldstore, defrost.
15. Trouble shooting/Problem solving.
16. Equipment calibration as necessary.
17. To be aware of any new or updated procedures.
18. To ensure any foreign body hazards are removed and investigated.
19. Ensure the HACCP system is being followed throughout the site and that personnel are challenged on the CCP's.
20. To carry out any other duties outside the scope outlined above, as requested.
