The roles primary focus is to increase revenue through new logo acquisition, selling core datacentre services and connectivity services along with several ancillary product offerings. As the New Business Development Manager your primary objective will be to drive sales using a variety of approaches including cold calling, prospecting and social media. Assistance will be given in terms of business and industry specific target accounts; however, your own book of contacts is always beneficial. As part of a small team in a growing organization you are guaranteed the support from across functions to enable you to be prompt and reactive to prospect requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing your pipeline through proactive phone prospecting
  • Generating your own qualified leads but also prospect into verticals you identify as promising.
  • Liaising with the Customer Service Manager to ensure the service is on time, billed and paid for.
  • Setting and attending face to face customer meetings
  • Building relationships and networking
  • Achieving your associated target and KPI's both in terms of activity and sales
  • Follow-up calls and feedback
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer's core objectives and challenges, to properly match The Company products and services with their needs.
  • Learn to confidently describe and explain service features and benefits, and our ability to meet or exceed customer expectations, especially when compared to alternatives.
  • Help to build brand awareness and a funnel of new customer opportunities in the territory through cold calls, selected trade show and event participation, and all appropriate outbound sales activities.
  • Regularly maintain CRM and provide necessary sales reports.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years' previous experience of new business acquisition in a connectivity/ cloud/ datacentre / technology / infrastructure / environment - either internal or field sales is essential
  • Volume phone contact experience essential.
  • Excellent record of consistently achieving targets (fiscal or otherwise)
  • Good technical understanding gained through telco / managed services / cloud datacentre background or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Able to engage at a multiplicity of levels within a customer
  • Driving License is required
