I am currently recruiting dedicated individuals to join our team of bank support workers Plymouth for ad-hoc shifts to work during the week and on weekends (early, late, night shifts available)
As a support worker your role will be to support young people aged 16-25 years within a foyer setting that are homeless or in housing need, including ex-offenders and those with alcohol/drugs or mental health problems
Key duties will be:
Providing safe accommodation for clients with experience of homelessness
Assessing and identifying clients' needs and referring them to relevant agencies
Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement
Regular key working and support planning to ensure relevant support is provided to enable our clients to maximise their own potential and level of independence
Drawing up and maintaining relevant written records
Actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
Assisting tenants to resolve or prevent housing debts that impinges on their ability to pay for their housing
Providing assistance to claim and manage housing benefits and offering advice and in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
You must have the ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
So??? are you looking for a role where you can pick your own hours? Maybe you would like to work some extra hours alongside your full-time role or studies at weekends or evenings? Or even if you would like to work full time hours but would like the ability to personalise your own working environment with the homes you choose to go to.
