Senior Procurement IT Buyer

One of the UK's leading technology firms is seeking a senior procurement IT buyer to lead their IT procurement function after recent expansion due to company acquisition. This organisation have recently created a new greenfield procurement department with support from the CFO, so there is certainly room for progression in the coming years. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement expert aiming to quickly grow into a best in industry procurement professional.

As Senior Procurement IT buyer you will:-

• Develop long lasting relationships with major global IT Hardware suppliers such as Dell, Lenovo, IBM and HP.
• Build rapport and develop relationships with major software vendors such as Microsoft, SAP, Oracle and other niche vendors working on projects related to ERP systems and CRM systems.
• Design and implement key category strategies globally for hardware spend managing the purchasing of: Desktops, Datacentres, Hosting, Professional Services, Software Applications and Laptops
• Engage with board level stakeholders - CFO ensuring that procurement has a great buy in from the business.
• Complete autonomy of the IT category developing it into a best in class procurement category working across a diverse range of sub categories such as Hardware, Software and data centres

Required skills, qualifications and experience:-

• Full involvement in the end to end strategic sourcing and category management experience including contract drafting and negotiation, RFPs, stakeholder engagement, SRM with a great track record of handling spend across technology categories
• Good progression year on year within a corporate environment throughout your procurement career.
• Degree - desirable not necessary
• CIPs (desirable not essential)
