We have an exciting opportunity for a WordPress PHP Web Developer to join our growing, fast paced digital agency. Working closely with the project managers and creative leads you will be responsible for building and maintaining WordPress based sites for a number of new and existing clients.

We develop sites for brands, startups and established businesses looking to take their online presence to the next level. We have just moved into beautiful new offices just outside Reading (M4 Junction 11) where we have undergone a modern refit including Table football, VR, and chillout areas in a lovely rural location.

What your typical week might look like:

+ Set up WordPress sites on a server, install, config, core plugins, etc.
+ Updating and fixing WordPress related issues on a number of existing client sites 
+ Taking design concepts and using page builders to replicate this into WordPress
+ Develop custom coded WordPress themes using our well tested methodologies.
+ Test your work on a wide variety of devices to deliver error free work.
+ Site speed optimisation work testing with Pingdom & GTMetrix
+ Respond to client support needs via email.
+ Helping the team with additional technical knowledge 
+ Ability to jump into plugin code and fix issues
+ Analyze and develop streamlined workflows
+ Troubleshoot any and all issues with websites, hosting, plugins, etc.

WordPress Web Developer Skills Required:

+ 3+ years of WordPress web development
+ Experience with ACF, Visual Composer, SiteOrigin a must
+ Experience with HTML5/CSS (ideally with LESS/SASS etc)
+ Experience working with WooCommerce
+ Ability to develop WordPress plugins
+ Knowledge of RESTful API.
+ Adequate knowledge of relational database systems (MSSQL or MYSQL).
+ Experience with version control such as BitBucket or GitHub
+ Experience using modern development tools such as Gulp/Webpack, Babel, Javascript es6, etc.
+ Have an understanding and use of JSON/XML/REST/AJAX
+ Solid understanding of object-orientated principles.

Beneficial / Bonus Points:

+ Modern PHP MVC frameworks such as Laravel, Yii, Node.js
+ Nginx and Apache configuration and management.
+ Frontend Technology Stacks (ideally with React/Vue/Angular etc)
+ Previous experience building SAAS projects
+ Magento development experience
+ An eye for UX design although you will be expected to work closely with a designer
