UKRI is a new entity that brings together nine partners to create an independent organisation with a strong voice for research and innovation and a vision to ensure the UK maintains its world-leading position in research and innovation.
In order to enable the growth of the European Space Agency (ESA) Business Incubation Centre (BIC) and other incubation activities, a vacancy has now arisen to support STFC's business incubation operations, based at the main location in the Atlas Centre at the heart of the Harwell Space Cluster.
About the role
The Business Incubation Officer will be a key member of the Business Incubation Team, which includes both incubation management and admin support teams.
The role has a broad spectrum of responsibilities across incubation programmes, with the primary role being to support the ESA BIC UK Operations Manager and Business Incubation Support Manager in three critical tasks:
1.ensuring that there is a flow of high-quality applications (deal-flow) to the BIC Tender Evaluation Board
2.supporting the start-up companies in the BIC to ensure they maximise their exploitation of the ESA BIC opportunity
3.fulfilling the contractual obligations of the ESA BIC.
Similar tasks may be required in support of other business incubation programmes and any future Business Incubation schemes as they are developed.
