Our client is a market leader in the design, manufacture and assembly of electrical products for a variety of industries. A newly created job opportunity has become available to join them as a permanent Quality Engineer to be based at their facility in Peterlee.
The Role:
•Lead quality improvement projects whilst liaising with the production, engineering and customer services
•Develop and improve visual standards including quality work instructions, product inspection documents and one point lessons
•Manage quality responsibilities for trial batches and their internal and external approval
•Collect and analyse key performance indicators in product quality
•Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QMS
•Responsible for Restriction of Hazardous Substances and Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals declarations
•Lead company internal audits
•Raise quality awareness on the shop floor and improve processes
•Ensure company's conformance with ISO9001
•Ownership of customer complaints and returned materials processes
•Fault finding investigation
•Contribute to the introduction of ISO 13485
The Person:
•Team player with some previous quality engineering experience
•Internal auditing and electronics inspection experience
•Electronics or plastics sector experience a definite advantage
•Proven ability to identify root cause
•ISO 9001 experience
•Have excellent organisational and communication skills as well as attention to detail
•Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
•Able to manage investigations, customer visits and audits
•Experience working with hand measurement tools and techniques would be beneficial
