Quest Employment are recruiting for our large production client in Bedford.
The role is for someone with knowledge and understanding of what the food industry needs. This person should have experience of auditing, being audited and a good working knowledge of food safety. Quality checking of products and being able to deal with a mixed work load daily.
The position is a 4 on/4 off days and nights rotating after a month training period.
As a Quality Auditor, you'll need to be a meticulous person who enjoys detailed work. As part of a team, you will need to have really good communication skills, verbal and also written. You'll need to have a resilient personality because occasionally you may be required to make unpopular decisions with which others disagree for example stopping the line due to critical food safety issue. The job requires a high level of personal organisational and time management skills to make sure all the work is done and recorded correctly. You are expected to spend a lot of time in production areas of the factory.
Key Primary duties are:
• Ensure that food safety and quality remains the priority during your shift
• Effective communication with operatives and managers on shift to address issues rapidly
• Identify and report non-conforming factors in all areas of the business.
• Verify all paperwork completed on site
• Sample preparation and login for external laboratory testing
• Ensure that Certificates of analysis are sent to the customer within the agreed deadlines
• Conduct site audits including GMP, GHP, etc and report to the senior management team
• Deputise Quality Controller
