Our client is a fast-growing UK based wholesale company producing luxury and contemporary pure cashmere knitwear.  They sell their product principally into the UK, EU and USA markets. They pride themselves in offering fashion forward cashmere knitwear.  They specialise in cashmere ladies wear but are developing other collections.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within their design team. They are seeking a highly professional and motivated Knitwear Designer with substantial previous experience to lead their design team. They offer a very desirable opportunity for the correct candidate to further their career within the business.

In the role you will have prime responsibility for creating and developing our clients bi annual collections including ladies cashmere, mens cashmere and ladies cotton silk. Researching collection concepts including embroideries, fabrications, seasonal themes and collating mood boards and inspiration boards for presentation to key stakeholders, you will create a design strategy, developing new concepts and product categories to support growth.

Creating detailed specifications and technical packs for suppliers and private label customers, and managing suppliers for the production of samples, you will manage the full life cycle of prototype’s to finished product, develop strong relationships with suppliers and set up and manage drawing and specification referencing systems.

With a minimum of 5 years in Knitwear design, including significant experience in leading a team, you will be educated to degree level with a minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion or other related subject or equivalent practical attainment. Understanding knit construction, yarn and stitch characteristics, production constraints and the design cycle and sample management, you will be creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour, print and detail.

Experienced in managing the sample process and possessing excellent communications skills, you will be a team player and have the ability to build relationships. Comfortable dealing with all challenges in a calm and positive manner and with CAD, photoshop and illustrator skills second to none, you will have knowledge of construction and manufacturing processes, BIG ideas and a strong conceptual imagination.
