HGV (LGV) Technician
Salary cGBP28,000.00 - GBP38,000.00 per annum
We are searching for a Qualified HGV Technician for our client at their Widnes Depot
You must only apply if you have relevant Motor Vehicle Mechanical Qualifications up to Level 3 such as City & Guilds or NVQ and ideally hold a CLASS 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) License.
Our client is a franchised Scania dealership that have five depots throughout the North West.
The role of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines and repairs and testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. As HGV Technician, you will report to the shift supervisor and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturer's standards.
You will be responsible for planning work, managing diagnostics and ordering parts effectively whilst being able to carry out all repairs to the highest standards and with the most effective use of time; you will also be required to have a stable technical/main dealer background and must have knowledge of modern diagnostic systems.
Our client very much prides itself on standards both of service and all its vehicles and so we are looking for a team player to fill this role who will be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines. You must be able to adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role to ensure continued high levels of work are carried out right, first time.
Hours of Work:
Split Shifts:-
Week 1: 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Friday with 30 mins unpaid break
Week 2: 13.30 - 10:00 Monday to Friday with 30 mins unpaid break
06:00 - 12:00 alternate Saturday to be worked (one in two)
+ Weekend call out rota, 1 in 12 standby
+ You will be GBP55.00 for being on standby for the weekend and paid for any hours worked out of the standard hours (shown above)
Saturdays paid at GBP19.37 per hour
Sundays paid at GBP20.32 per hour
Additional Info:
• Overtime available to boost your earnings paid at time and half
• Initial self-enrolment pension scheme (first 12 months)
• Contributory pension scheme (after 12 months service)
• Death in Service payout: three-times annual salary (associated with contributory pension scheme)
• Manufacturer training (Scania)
• Full PPE provided
• 28 days holiday including statutory bank holidays
