Junior Category Manager

This is a special opportunity for an ambitious procurement professional to join an organisation renowned for its past pace and ambitious plans. Due to a continuous period of growth and an expansion of the procurement team, my client is now looking to further boost their team by hiring a talented and determined Junior Category Manager. Known throughout the world as a market leader of its industry this is a great opportunity that does not come round too often due to the organisation having such a good record of internal promotion.

Junior Category Manager: The role

• Be a true expert across the indirect procurement categories FM, HR, IT, Marketing, providing the wider procurement team with first class market knowledge and being on hand to aid the understanding of cost structures and sourcing strategies.

• Be at the forefront of relationship building with all suppliers, both new and current, in order to help support the strategic targets set out by the organisation.

• Support sales bids of the organisation and help to come up with viable solutions through the close working relationships built with all stakeholders both junior and senior

• Drive change throughout the organisation by challenging current ways of working and identifying opportunities across the procurement function

• Carry out thorough analysis of all suppliers and take pride across all work that you do in order to further increase cost effectiveness across all suppliers

Skills/Experience needed:

• Experience across indirect categories
• Degree/CIPS qualified is desired but not essential
• A track record of successful stakeholder and supplier management
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience of successful negotiation
• Very numerate and logical
