You’ve got a good understanding of mental health issues and are organised, proactive and compassionate. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Volunteer & Peer Mentor Coordinator.

We are looking for someone like you to join our new service in Derby which will provide personalised, flexible and targeted community based support for people with mental health needs. A key part of the service will be peer support and it is here we need you. Working closely with the Team Manager, you will create partnership links to identify what peer networks already exist in the area and gauge where there may be interest to get involved.  You will develop volunteer and peer support groups which will include induction, mentoring and training. It’s a challenging role but one in which your creativity and enthusiasm will have every chance to shine.

The chances are, you already work in the mental health field, or similar. What is for certain is that you’re self-motivated, work well under pressure and know how to connect with people at all levels. You’ve also got the confidence needed to come up with new ideas to develop the service and the communication skills to promote it locally. Strong IT skills – email, internet and MS Office - are also needed.

Richmond Fellowship is part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence. We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone.

So, are you ready to take on this rewarding role that comes with some really great benefits, including a smartphone? Apply now via our website.
