The Wildlife Trusts believe that people are part of nature and that a healthy, wildlife-rich world is the foundation of our wellbeing and prosperity. We have a mission to secure Living Landscapes and Living Seas and to inspire society to value and act for nature. We are currently looking for someone who has a passion and genuine interest in the marine environment. The role will support the Living Seas team working on marine projects.

You will work to develop and coordinate our intertidal and underwater survey and monitoring programmes, and will build marine conservation capacity for individuals and the Trust by providing support, advice, resources and training.

Helping to develop and facilitate a greater awareness of The Way Back to Living Seas Strategy and the marine environment, you will secure support for strong policies and effective action on the ground.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the conservation issues affecting the marine environment. Experience of working on marine issues and local or national projects with the public is essential. A true professional with excellent communication skills, you will be self-motivated with a business approach and the ability to think on your feet.

The Wildlife Trusts is a grassroots movement of 800,000 members, 43,000 volunteers and 2,800 staff across the UK dedicated to our vision and driven by our beliefs. There are 36 Wildlife Trusts in England, four in Wales and Trusts for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Alderney and the Isle of Man. The Wildlife Trusts have an unmatched presence on the ground helping to inspire millions of people about wildlife every year and managing nearly 100,000 hectares of land. Being part of The Wildlife Trust movement enables you to make a real difference and we look for people who share our values.

Are you a technical expert that would like to make that change to working for a charity, knowing that you are supporting making a positive difference to nature across the UK? then this is the role for you.

We value courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility. Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental, and we are inclusive. Our society is divided, and The Wildlife Trusts want to reduce, not increase, that division.

The Wildlife Trusts is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
