What will I be doing?
As a Grounds Person / Gardener, you will help to maintain our school grounds to a high standard. The grounds date back to the 1800s and now include numerous sports facilities as well as gardens.
You will be part of the team ensuring that the grounds have the maximum impact upon pupils, guests and visitors to the school.
Your role will include:
- Mowing and grass cutting
- Maintaining planted borders
- Preparing hanging baskets and floral displays
- Undertaking maintenance activities such as gutter and drain cleaning, and external furniture upkeep
- Assisting with tree maintenance
- Supporting marquee usage and event stands
What do I need?
To be considered as a Grounds Person / Gardener, you'll need:
- An understanding of statutory Health & Safety requirements
- A full, clean driving licence
- The ability to drive tractors and mowers, as well as use strimmers, leaf blowers and gardening tools
- The willingness to work outside for long periods and in all weathers
