An enthusiastic, motivated and flexible person is required for this post; supporting adults with disabilities (Learning Disabilities & Physical disabilities) in community settings, providing both transport and care. You will require effective communication skills, and be sensitive when attending to the physical and social needs of service users. You need to be able to implementing enablement / maintenance programmes, and demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities.
You must hold a category D1 licence as it is a statutory requirement, or be prepared to work towards obtaining one during your 6 month probationary period. If you are unsuccessful in passing all the required elements of the D1 test you will not complete your probationary period, therefore you will not be recommended for the permanent role. The department will fund the D1 training and test however you may incur a small charge to update your licence. A MIDAS qualification may be required if you already hold a D1.
