Are you an excellent communicator who is enthusiastic about encouraging young people to study at University?  Do you have exceptional organisational skills and substantial experience in planning and managing events?

The School of Computing and Engineering is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work within our Marketing and Recruitment Team to promote opportunities for study within our subject areas amongst prospective students, teachers and higher education advisors.  

You will be expected to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with schools and colleges.  Working closely with academic colleagues, you will coordinate the development and delivery of a range of recruitment activities, including our ‘Taster Day’ and Discover Lecture’ programmes.  This a varied and demanding role which requires the proven ability to use your initiative and problem solve whilst being flexible in your approach.  

This role will involve travel throughout the UK, time away from home and working evenings and weekends as required. Experience of managing and developing staff or student ambassadors will also be of distinct advantage to this role. 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
•    Significant experience of planning, organising and managing events, ideally with a student recruitment or similar educational focus.
•    Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to use your initiative to manage several projects at once and deliver confidently to deadlines.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, with significant experience of designing and delivering engaging presentations, tours and/or activity based workshops for a wide and varied range of audiences.
•    Strong relationship building and networking skills, with proven ability to achieve results through sensitive liaison, collaboration and negotiation.
•    Significant experience in developing and maintaining effective systems and processes for gathering, recording and proactively reporting information.
•    You will be educated to degree level.
