IT Strategic Sourcing Specialist

This leading IT organisation are looking for an IT Buyer with great software expertise to join their IT procurement function. With record revenues recorded early in 2018 this organisation are going through a significant growth period and have been acquiring multiple organisations. With a newly created procurement function established in 2017 this organisation are seeking an individual to lead their software procurement function.

This organisation is known to invest in their procurement professionals with several employees gaining promotion and sponsored CIPs qualifications within their first few years at the company. With a great social, family atmosphere you will fit right in and will enjoy working with your fellow colleagues within the procurement department. With a newly created procurement function you will gain responsibility to autonomously own the software procurement category and design long term strategies.

As Global IT Buyer you will:-

• Work alongside board level executives such as the CFO presenting and designing the businesses new software procurement strategy
• Work autonomously on the IT category developing strategies ensuring best in industry suppliers are sourced. Lead strategic sourcing projects from cradle to grave.
• Take ownership and manage the software procurement category ensuring rapport is built with suppliers leading to business discounts and best in class services being sourced.
• Gain full responsibility for the software category managing (IAAS, SAAS and Software licensing vendors from database products, office suites, design suites)
• Directly report and have weekly meetings with the head of procurement benefiting from a career development program ensuring you become a best in class procurement professional.

Required background:-

• Proven procurement track record with consistent progression year on year from graduate to buyer.
• Prior involvement in the overall procurement lifecycle with great strategic sourcing experience being able to provide great savings
• Prior experience dealing with IT, software or hardware suppliers in the past
• Degree qualified & studying CIPs is desirable
