What is the purpose of this role?

Amey work in partnership with the MOJ to manage the facilities management contracts for a number of prisons across the UK. This is a high profile contract within Amey and offers great development and autonomy to progress your career within Facilities Management.

If you have had experience of managing a single site or a cluster of sites previously and understand how to operate the site as a business to contractual and statutory SLA's you will enjoy managing one of the custodial sites. the challenge comes from the account being within its first generation of outsourcing; as such you can make recommendations for improvements and operations as you see fit.

As part of your role as Facilities Manager you will carry out audits and spot checks to confirm service delivery by both direct employees and sub-contractors are of the required quality as well as managing the day to day running of the staff and the site.

What will this role involve?

  • Carry out first line management duties with staff including disciplinary and employment processes
  • Working with and Managing Contractors
  • Revenue generation from additional work identification
  • Provide information exchange with on-site customers
  • Oversee the day to day operation and strategic management of the Estate/building on behalf of the client
  • Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to
  • Ensure all corporate polices and procedure are implemented and complied with
  • Ensure all service are delivered in line with contractual commitments

What are we looking for?

  • Recognised and relevant technical or FM qualification
  • Experience of the Facilities Management marketplace
  • Experience of first line management
  • Sound knowledge of service delivery
  • Supply chain management
  • Demonstrable experience of budgeting and managing costs
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and implementation of policies OSH Managing Safely
