We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Estate Administrator to help us in the running of Fursdon House and Estate.

A traditional rural estate in the heart of the Devon countryside, close to the cathedral city of Exeter, Fursdon has been in the family for over 750 years and is a member of Historic Houses. The Fursdon family has long welcomed visitors to Fursdon and is passionate about sharing its unique history and beauty via house and garden openings, events and holiday accommodation.

Now, as our long-standing Estate Administrator retires and family ownership transitions, we are looking for a bright, dedicated and forward-thinking replacement who can share our passion for Fursdon while managing the day-to-day running and maintenance of the estate, its businesses and properties.

As Estate Administrator, you will provide oversight across all our operations, ensure excellent internal working practices, and enhance the service and experience we offer to visitors.

You will be joining a fantastic team in a role that is both varied and challenging with opportunity to provide key support in the strategic direction of Fursdon and its future sustainability as a successful rural estate business.

Working directly with the owners, the ideal candidate will be highly responsible, dedicated and efficient; a self-starter who is organised and systems-driven but also upbeat, enthusiastic, flexible and open-minded with the ability to use their own initiative and grow with the role as the business develops over time.

Skills, experience and qualifications:   The following would be an advantage:

  • Experience in the management/administration of a rural estate/ farm/ let property
  • Experience working in the visitor economy/tourist attraction
  • Budget management and financial control experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to implement own processes
  • Excellent office and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong leadership qualities with ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
  • On and offline marketing experience, including website and social media

For further details and to apply, please send your full CV and cover letter detailing your skills, previous experience and why you are suitable for the role to Gillian Ardalan at Savills in Taunton (GArdalan@savills.com) by Wednesday 19th September 2018.

Interviews for selected candidates will be held on Saturday 29th September in Devon.
