Our client at HMP The Mount are currently hiring a Family Worker

We are advertising for a social enterprise that empowers people to break the cycle of crime or addiction to move forward with their lives. Their services have supported thousands of people to make positive changes and build productive lives with a job, family, friends and a sense of community.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Family Worker to join their team at HMP The Mount.

 

Family Worker – Role responsibilities:

Working within HMP The Mount, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing family/carer work with an emphasis on both supporting families/carers to identify and provide for their own needs as well as those of the service user.

  • This is a unique role as you will be offering Family Worker interventions and coordinate Peer Support.
  • Working closely with the prison, local agencies, self-help groups and peer mentoring services, you will be responsible in providing pathways for clients and families to increase their engagement in family life, improve their health and well-being and reduce re-offending.

 

Family Worker – Essential Skills:

  • To take up this exciting opportunity you will be in possession of, or be working towards a recognised qualification in a related field (counselling, health & social care, nursing etc.)
  • Must have good knowledge of the criminal justice system and/or working with families.
  • You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of liaising with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to set and stick to professional boundaries.
  • The successful candidate will be results and outcome-orientated with experience of providing support services to families.
