Job Title: Design Engineer
Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has risen for an enthusiastic and mechanically competent and project bias Design Engineer/ Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly successful manufacturer of material handling equipment in the Leicestershire area.
The Role:
As the successful Design Engineer/ Mechanical Design Engineer you will join and vastly experienced team in producing mild steel and stainless steel fabricated products (conveyors, hoppers, bulk handling machinery, access platforms, structural steel and precision fabrications, solutions).
Key Responsibilities:
??Initiating, work on and manage the roll out of various and quite complex projects running at any one time
??Undertaking design of projects from conception to completion, managing all aspects of the design process
??Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
??Carrying out site surveys and work with clients to come up with innovative design ideas and solutions for i.e. fully integrated materials handling systems
??Undertaking and oversee the design of bespoke machinery
??Effectively communicating with the shop floor regarding design changes and any manufacturing issues
Key Requirements:
??Machinery design experience - essential
??The ability to effectively Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) - essential. Ideally with a good understanding of conveyors and handling systems
??Qualified in engineering: Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer - essential.
??Competency in and good working software knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor 3D - essential
??Excellent understanding of engineering procedures and fabrication processes
??Competency in to carrying out site surveys and working with clients to produce the best design ideas and solutions
??Ability to confidently and effectively explain design changes
??Project management experience - preferred
