Overview
You'll help shape Buckinghamshire's Transport Future by joining the County Council as a Highways Development Management Technician in either the planning or delivery team.
We are looking for two new technicians to join the Highways Development Management team. This is your chance to play an influential role and make a lasting impact on our county. We are a close knit team that prides itself on our knowledge and ability, and we welcome innovation and ambition, as well as a drive to provide the right solution for the community.
About us
Buckinghamshire County Council is entering one of the most exciting periods of change in its history. We're looking to become a more agile, commercial and digitally-focussed organisation. The aim? To benefit our residents and shape our county for the future. With substantial investment in place, we now need people who are determined to make this transformation happen.
About the role
You'll be assessing development proposals, preparing statutory highway consultation responses on planning applications and facilitating highway works to mitigate the impacts of development in Buckinghamshire. This includes attending site visits, advising on technical issues and responding to queries relating to developments across the county. Expect to be challenged, supported and developed in the field of Highways Development Management.
About you
This is an entry role, suitable for a graduate or somebody looking for a change in career.
Excellent communication skills are a must, and the confidence to articulate and express your own views to colleagues, developers, Local Planning Authorities, and Councillors.
You'll be able to harness your detailed analytical skills to process a variety of data into readily understandable outputs. This may be to tight timescales, so an ability to work under pressure is essential.
It would be advantageous to possess a relevant degree (or equivalent experience).
