Our client is a privately owned food manufacturing company with multiple sites throughout the UK. A new job has been created for a QA Technician to join their team in Gateshead on a permanent basis, working on predominately a 2 shift system (double days)
The Role
• Ensure that all products conform to customer standards
• Sample and inspect company products
• Carry out GMP audits and report findings
• Maintain accurate records of analysis and inspections
• Monitor QA department consumables, hygiene temperatures
• Review QA test methods
• Make shelf life determinations and monitor the shelf life of products
• Log all non-conformances
• Maintain and calibrate factory equipment
• Carry out Critical Control Point checks on production lines
• Collect finished product samples for incubation and shelf life studies
The Person
• Hold a Level 3 Food Safety Certificate or equivalent
• Experience within a food manufacturing environment beneficial
• Previous experience as a QA Technician essential
• Microsoft Office skills a must
• Strong communication and decision maker
• Experience of writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, BRC, HACCP and COSHH
• Flexible to meet business needs when required
