TeacherActive require a Residential Support Worker with experience of supporting young adults and children with learning and physical disabilities. This role is based in Exeter.
A Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care and/or experience of providing care and support to children with physical disabilities and challenging behaviour is essential due to the nature of the role.
The post will be supporting individuals aged 10 to 21 on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will need to have had work experience with young people or adults with learning and physical difficulties.
The Residential Support Worker will work with the enabling team to ensure that the care and well-being needs of every young person is met. The role includes supporting young people to access activities such as arts and crafts, exercise and music. An interest in supporting children and young adults with their education is required as the role will incorporate holistic learning.
You must ensure that you are able to demonstrate ability to develop appropriate working relationships with service users, parents/carers and colleagues. Relationships will be based on respect, mutual trust, individual rights and cultural needs.
