Role - Field Service Engineer (Electronics)

Location - Covering the North of England

Salary - Circa GBP27,000 pa whilst training + Benefits

Hours - Monday - Friday 37.5 plus over time - The job requires to stay away from home frequently.

The Role

Field based electronic technician based within in Northern England responsible for installation, service and maintenance of our client vehicle installations, cameras and safety equipment.

Experience with light commercial vehicles is essential.

Travel will be required over a wide area of the United Kingdom with overnight accommodation provided by the employer together with reasonable out of pocket expenses.

The role requires someone who is self-disciplined, well motivated and customer focused.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new skills in the role at the forefront of laser and video technology within a small but well established company.

Salary is negotiable subject to experience and qualifications with full product training being provided.

Personal Qualities / Skills

* Automotive electrical experience of 12vDC auxiliary charging systems within light commercial vehicles is a must.

* Experience of working with a wide range of cameras and onboard vehicle recording systems an advantage, particularly within the emergency vehicle / service vehicle environment.

* Good customer service skills are essential with a high level of client inter-action by telephone, email or in person.

* Good logical electrical fault finding technique required together with experience of use of electrical test equipment.

* Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to flexible timelines.

* A relevant automotive electrical qualification will be a distinct advantage (NVQ, City & Guilds etc.)

* The ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams.

* IT / PC Literate.

* Conscientious professional who is organised and dedicated.

* Must have a full driving licence (clean preferred).

* A good awareness of health and safety.

* Physically fit and able to cope with manual handling of equipment cases, lifting bending etc.

Duties / Responsibilities

* Travelling to various client sites / liaising with clients on site.

* Installation and / or repair of vehicle camera and recording equipment.

* Installation and maintenance of camera support infra-structure.

* Attending service calls to fault diagnosis and repair as necessary.

* To keep appropriate records, regarding spares stock, ordering and client equipment maintenance records.

* To look after service vehicle provided and associated equipment, arranged servicing etc.

* To take responsibility for personal health and safety
