Gardener

We are seeking a skilled Gardener to join our fantastic Estates team at a leading boarding school. As Head Gardener you will lead the day-to-day development of our stunning Grade 2 listed grounds, covering 70 acres of lush ornamental lawns and herbaceous borders.

Main Duties

• Carrying out a wide range of horticultural tasks including plant selection, propagation, cultivation, planting and nursery work
• Undertaking tree and woodland maintenance operations
• Implementing long term maintenance and improvement plans
• Maintaining the high quality presentation of gardens & amenity areas
• Undertaking minor construction and landscaping work and transporting materials
• Helping to plan and design formal garden areas in keeping with our listed buildings

Required Skills

• Minimum RHS Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent
• Excellent communication, IT and management skills
• 5 years industry experience with track record of garden & plant management

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm with a 1 hour lunch break
