Job Purpose:

Under the management of a HR Business Partner, the post holder is responsible for providing professional support in the provision of a HR Operations service within the Trust. The post holder will work to a HR Business Partner and will operate around all business units and corporate services across the Trust.

This role will work as an advisor to Trust managers on a wide range of HR operational issues ensuring Trust standards and policies are adhered to in a consistent manner. The role will have a focus on providing excellent customer service with a right first time approach that supports the Trust values and aim to provide outstanding care.

Main duties:

1 To advise managers in a range of HR Operational matters including and not limited to the following:

* Advising and supporting managers on matters of employee relations (discipline, grievance, performance management).
* Advising and supporting managers on matters of attendance management.

1 To support managers in adopting good HR practice by offering effective HR advice through the interpretation of current employment & case law, best practice and relevant policies/procedures.

1 Provide timely, consistent, accurate and appropriate advice and support for managers in carrying out investigations in line with relevant policies and procedures.

1 Evaluate information received during an investigation and support managers in presenting findings within the appropriate investigation reporting format guidelines.

1 Assist managers in the management of poor performance, advising on solutions and assisting with their implementation.

1 Support and advise managers in respect of short and long-term sickness absence issues, including attending sickness absence meetings with staff and reviewing sickness statistics to identify trends and problem areas for action.

1 Analyse exit questionnaires as required to investigate reasons for leaving and feedback any issues of concern to the appropriate manager.

1 Advise on job descriptions and associated grading/banding issues and participate in job evaluation panels.

1 Assist and support with the design and delivery of training to line managers on the application of HR policies and procedures and HR hot topics.

1 Support the development or revision of Trust employment policies and procedures including the implementation of new policies.

1 Organise and support delivery of Trust Clinical Excellence Awards and AAC Panels.

1 Provide workforce information to managers on request of the Business Partner/Senior Business Partner.

1 Work with managers and staff side representatives to maintain positive working relationships and resolve issues constructively.

1 Support Senior HR Business Partners to manage employment tribunal claims.

1 Support delivery of Trust induction.

1 Actively design, develop and support training and development provided to service areas and within HR.

1 Undertake ad hoc project work as directed by line manager.

1 Ensure a highly visible and democratic leadership style underpinned by robust values relating to equality, diversity, consistency and openness.

1 Demonstrate a strong customer focused approach that is proactive in support of the success of the services and maintains best HR Practice.

1 Coach managers to ensure they maximise their leadership capabilities.

1 To undertake general HR tasks as required and appropriate to the grade.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A 6 MONTHS ROLE IN THE INITIAL INSTANCE, WITH THE VIEW OF EXTENSION. 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK (9AM-5PM)
