We are a well-respected family run Care Home looking to appoint Dining Assistants to work an evening shift from 4.30 to 7.30pm to cover various days of the week including the weekend. The position is based on a nursing unit where some of the clients are living with dementia. You will assist in serving tea time meals and drinks both in the dining room and to those clients who prefer to stay in their room. You may have to assist some clients who cannot feed themselves to eat and drink and encourage other clients who may require some prompting. You will follow direction from care staff. The job will also involve collection of food trolleys, setting tables, some preparation of food and helping clients make choices from menus.
You must have a friendly, outgoing personality, a caring and compassionate nature and an empathy with the older adult.
Full training will be given. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
