About the Company
Our client is a leading UK-focussed downstream energy company whose main asset is the Stanlow Manufacturing Complex, one of the most advanced refineries in Europe and situated close to the major cities of Liverpool and Manchester. Stanlow is a key strategic national asset, annually producing over 16% of the UK’s road transport fuels, while playing an important part in Britain’s petrochemical industry by providing key feedstocks.
The business is a major supplier in the North West and beyond with customers including most of the major retail brands operated by international oil companies and supermarkets, Manchester Airport, leading commercial airlines and the region’s trains and buses.
The business covers crude and product trading, refinery operations, HSE implementation, maintenance support and technological services, together with marketing and retail activities. Our client’s commitment to maintaining safe and healthy working conditions and following the best operating practices to protect the environment underpins everything they do.
They employ over 900 highly trained and loyal staff, who are at the heart of everything we do. The company has an embedded safety culture, technically challenging work across the different parts of the business and some of the best training available in the energy industry.
About the Role
Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Operations Coordinator to join the Supply Team within their Marketing Department. This is a key role as the interface between Marketing, the Refinery and our client’s business partners with the key objective of ensuring that product is in the right place at the right time, in order to support sales across a variety of modes including road, pipelines, airports and vessels.
The role is crucial to the continued delivery of our client’s fast paced agenda. You’ll work to ensure that their assets are maximised to their full potential and meet customer requirements, through effective management of a range of service providers and business partners. You’ll maintain and build a right first time customer experience resulting in loyal customers and enabling our client to become the supplier of choice.
Key responsibilities will include stock management at third party locations, liaising with both internal and external partners and working with scheduling teams to ensure products are successfully moved via the various pipeline systems linked into the refinery and terminals. You’ll also be responsible for providing accurate demand forecasting to Economics teams as well as providing management information to internal stakeholders, including Finance and Sales departments, and managing customer nominations for billing purposes.
Further tasks will include supporting the Supply Business Analysts with data analysis where necessary, collaborating with Sales/Supply to ensure accurate demand tracking is maintained and taking responsibility for daily operational review meetings with service providers and business providers.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is educated to degree level or equivalent and who has excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills. Strong commercial and financial acumen is essential combined with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost and customer satisfaction. Previous experience and the ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment is important combined with a flexible working approach. Also essential, is the ability to work well as part of a team but also independently, handling multiple projects effectively. Excellent time management of key duties is also crucial.
