More photos have been taken in the last decade than in the rest of history combined, with around one trillion photos taken last year alone. With more high-tech mobile technology emerging every day, the demand for photo products is booming louder than ever before. That’s where our client comes in - providing inventive and bespoke online and physical platforms for ordering photo prints and creating a multitude of personalised photo gifts.

Our client is looking for talented people to bolster their Technical Support team, finding innovative solutions to complex problems and keeping development cycles on track for some of the world’s biggest brands. Their unique approach to incorporating new ideas and encouraging a culture of learning, while maintaining a market-tested and profitable product line, gives their team fantastic and challenging opportunities to advance their careers within an extremely friendly and skilled community.

You will join around 80 other staff in comfortable, freshly renovated offices located in a conservation area. The site accommodates breakout areas, free on-site employee parking, a games room, sizable garden, fitness suite, modern kitchens, plenty of musical instruments, sports equipment and copious Nerf™ guns to name but a few. Trains are a 5-minute walk away, and another 10 minutes will bring you to a beautiful sea vista.

You will be...

  • Communicating with operators & end users of some of the busiest photo websites in the world.
  • Troubleshooting and solving a wide variety of complex IT problems using open-source utilities.
  • Working with software development teams in producing and testing bleeding-edge new technologies.

You should apply if you...

  • Are intricately familiar with Debian-based Linux systems as well as other open-source tools.
  • Have proven knowledge of the Ruby programming language.
  • Have proven experience in a senior technical helpdesk role & possess excellent communication skills.
  • Have a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Are motivated to learn and use new skills to enhance the team and their products.

It’s a bonus if you...

  • Have an understanding of a Ruby web framework such as Ruby on Rails or Sinatra.
  • Have experience of industry-scale open-source utilities such as Git, Redis, HAProxy, Docker, Nginx, MySQL.
  • Are happy to work a variety of shifts, for instance 08:00 - 16:30, 12:30 - 21:00 or 15:30 - 00:00 and the occasional Sunday (all their TS operatives work some Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota basis)
  • Have worked within the digital imaging industry
