Sense are looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as a Senior Support Worker (Intervenor) in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area.
This a part time position, working up to 20 hours per week.

About the role
An Intervenor provides one-to-one support to children and young adults who have been born with sight and hearing impairments (congenital deafblindness), often with additional needs. The Intervenor helps the individual to experience and join in the world around them as much as possible. They promote their personal and social development, encourage independence and support their communication.
This job role will be to support children in Bristol and South Gloucestershire and will be based in the community. Typical activities will involve supporting the individual to access the community and encourage the child's communication and social interaction.
The successful candidate must be available to work flexibly across the week, be available after school and during school holiday periods.
A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
About you
The ideal candidate will have achieved, or be willing to work toward, a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and also BSL level one, or possess native sign language skills. You will have had experience of working with and providing practical support to, people with learning disabilities and / or multisensory impairments.
