Job description

Peloton Interactive UK Limited is seeking a Senior Director, International Business Development to join its London team to report to Kevin Cornils, the Managing Director International.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • supporting the MD, International in identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities across the global organization, including identification of new geographic markets;
  • supporting the MD, International in developing key relationships and channels to market to build the Peloton brand and achieve budgeted sales in new markets (leading with the UK & Canada);
  • working cross-functionally to translate these opportunities into a reality, partnering with our retail, brand management, product, technology, and customer experience teams to track performance and test and execute on new concepts;
  • leading the implementation of pilot tests, strategic partnerships, and other corporate development activity to drive our long-term international strategy priorities;
  • working with the Executive, Retail, and Marketing/Brand teams to develop International retail go-to-market strategy:
  • understanding best-practice and lessons-learned from US retail roll-out;
  • working with UK team/Canada and agencies to leverage US experience but with an approach tailored to London/Canada and market launch;
  • establishing retail as a key marketing and sales channel, working closely with brand, marketing and retail teams in NY and London; 
  • acting as a conduit between the US and International, helping scale Peloton’s company culture abroad;
  • communicating across the organization with leadership team to make sure projects are executed in a timely manner; track risks and opportunities while investing in key relationships and being sensitive to company culture;
  • effecting new store growth plan from site selection to lease execution, manage local brokers, conduct site visits, evaluate spaces and build-out costs;
  • identifying innovative, ancillary retail channels as part of marketing mix;
  • managing existing portfolio needs;
  • managing store roll-out and assist International team with hiring and training of store management and staff;
  • teaming with HQ Retail team to determine architecture/design approach (UK-based partners vs. HQ team, etc);
  • consistently monitoring consumer and industry trends to ensure physical Peloton activations/experiences properly communicates Peloton brand.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

The successful candidate must have the following skills and experience:

  • significant experience and proven expertise identifying, evaluating, and executing growth opportunities across the global organization, including identification of new geographic markets;
  • significant experience supporting executive team to develop key relationships and channels to market to build the Peloton brand and achieve budgeted sales in new markets (leading with the UK & Canada);
  • proven expertise develop pilot tests, strategic partnerships, and other corporate development activity to drive our long-term international strategy priorities;
  • significant experience working with Executive, Retail, and Marketing/Brand teams to develop International retail go-to-market strategy. 
  • excellent communication abilities and ability to efficiently relay information and key insights to a large team across the global organization;
  • superior project and people management skills;
  • experience developing and evaluating new store growth plans from site selection to lease execution; and
  • knowledge and insight into and industry trends to ensure physical Peloton activations/experiences properly communicates Peloton brand.
