What it's about
This is a varied and interesting role to help reshape the way we liaise and interact with the regulator and record regulatory transactions. This role gives the job holder a unique insight into all aspects of OCR's work.
You will primarily support OCR in monitoring regulatory activity by: implementing and administering systems to log regulatory transactions; cascading relevant information and communications; tracking progress on actions against deadlines and generating robust regulatory transaction audit trails.
In addition, you will investigate and make decisions on issues of malpractice related to OCR qualifications in accordance with established procedures.
What you'll be doing
Regulatory Transactions
- Reshaping the way we liaise and interact with the regulator
- Improving the way we log transactions received from the regulator, including (but not limited to) Responsible Officer communications, regulatory monitoring requests, other strategic stakeholders including DfE and other government departments
- Cascading and allocating all incoming regulatory transactions to OCR senior officers
- Supporting the business in managing requests from the regulator eg audits and consultations
Malpractice
- Investigate and make decisions on issues of malpractice related to OCR qualifications in accordance with established procedures.
- Extract data from OCR systems and files and review/provide it for investigations into cases of suspected non-compliance and/or malpractice.
- Liaise with centres to provide and obtain information relating to on-going investigations.
- Inform relevant parties of progress and outcome of malpractice/compliance investigations.
- Deal with enquiries from internal and external customers, providing guidance and advice on malpractice/compliance matters.
What we're looking for
The right applicant will have excellent administrative, written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Experience of working on process improvements is essential to the role.

- Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience.
Skills
- The ability to manage yourself and your workload effectively whilst working accurately in order to meet tight deadlines is essential.
Experience
- Experience of working in a regulated environment, with different teams and at all levels within an organisation is essential to this role.
