Our client is a very successful business and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of HGV / Plant Mechanic.
We are looking for candidates who have previous HGV or mobile plant fitter experience to work in a busy maintenance workshop in Grantham.
The Role:
Reporting to the maintenance manager you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance service ands repair of a wide range of plant and machinery including forklift trucks, dumpers, tele-handlers, excavators, bull dozers and other materials handling equipment.
Your plant inspection, service and maintenance duties will include but is not limited to the following;
* Inspection, fault find and repair of diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, and basic vehicle electric systems.
* Perform LOLER & PUWER inspections and complete relavant documentation
* Provide running repairs to the fleet dealing with things like; greasing kin-pins, maintaining / replacing hoses, control levers, seat, attachments, clamps, masts etc.
* Compliance with all relevant inspection and health and safety policies and procedures.
Candidates:
Applicants will have at least 3 years previous work experience in a similar role.
You will be familiar with working in a busy vehicle maintenance workshop environment and you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of diesel engines.
Candidates with hydraulics experience / knowledge will be beneficial.
Ideally you will have valid vehicle maintenance / mechanical fitter qualifications however time-served fitters with a robust employment history will be most welcome.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday + OT
