Skilled at writing successful high value fundraising proposals and securing significant donations you are now looking to develop your career in an organisation that will welcome your input and enhance your skills. That organisation is ActionAid. We are a value driven, forward thinking organisation, focused on achieving long-term change through supporting our partners to make a sustainable difference.

To help increase income and ensure programmatic quality we are recruiting a Proposal Writer and Grant Manager to join our Philanthropy and Partnerships Team. Now is an exciting time to join us as we have a number of large funding opportunities as well as a lot of proactive work planned to make us more effective and agile.

As Proposal Writer and Grant Manager your role will be to help secure income and retain donors that fund some of our most critical work. This will involve developing and writing high quality, bespoke proposals for submission to top prospects who are able to offer funding in excess of GBP100k per year, and donors that match our organisational priorities.

As part of our internally-focussed Project Information Team you will liaise with colleagues across our federation to develop relevant and engaging content, ensuring work is in line with our branding and key messages as well as integrated with other activities to guarantee a seamless supporter journey.

You will also support the country facing aspects of grant management for a select number of large strategic grants. This will involve setting up new projects, establishing log frames, monitoring and evaluation frameworks and grant management and reporting schedules, completing MoUs and keeping donor-facing account managers informed of progress. Important also will be your ability to improve efficiency by enhancing systems and processes.

Experienced at developing proposals (including log frames) you will have prepared compelling and cohesive programme materials and key communications to inspire and educate high value donors. Skilled at presenting complex project information in a clear and engaging way you must have a track record of securing significant donations from major donors, charitable trusts and foundations and/or corporates.

You will have a good understanding of international development programmes including terminology and language. You will also be effective at liaising with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and budgeting. In addition, you will have proven experience of setting up large grants, grant management and building the capacity of country programmes to manage high value income.

Interviews will be held during the week commencing the 27 th of August 2018
