Internal Communications Manager

Location: Reading

Contract length: initially until June 2019 (potential to go up to 18 months max)

Hours: Full time (Monday - Friday 9am-5)

Salary: Paying up to £55,000 based on experienced plus 5% end of contract bonus.

Job Description
This role will focus on driving the management and execution of communications programmes, processes, strategies and tactics in support of company Internal Communications goals in the UK
o This role closely aligns and integrates with the overall communications vision and narratives for UK business.
o This role will work closely with the Head of Internal Communications, Internal Communications graduate and retained internal communications agency as well as key business stakeholders
o An expert in all matters related to internal communications and employee engagement, the role is balanced between strategy development, implementation and expert communications counsel

Story behind the need - Business Group & Key Projects
The UK communications team provides strategic communications advice to the business, building and protecting the brand and reputation by influencing the external and internal narrative about the brand and its role in the UK. We work through many communications channels including traditional and digital media, our own channels, social media, word of mouth and direct engagement with customers and partners as appropriate.
This role reports to the Head of Internal Communications within the UK PR and Comms team in the Marketing and Operations Group, UK employees, staff and contingent workers are the primary audience groups.

Typical Day in Role
o Consistent management, delivery and execution of internal communications programmes to positively impact and advance internal communications goals;
o Advises and supports business stakeholders and leaders based on communications expertise in building the right plans/ execution in support of internal communications goals in the UK;
o Partners with in house resources and teams, in the UK, Redmond, and agency to help create compelling comms deliverable and programmes ensuing coordination and alignment of messages and activities
o Supports development, tracking and reporting of UK internal communications impact
o Leads implementation, delivery and progress tacking for key UK internal communications programmes and campaigns

Candidate Requirements

" The candidate must be an experienced communications practitioner with 10+ years' communications experience including a proven track record in running impactful internal communications programmes in large multinational organisations in the technology sector
" Strong track record in managing internal communications campaigns and agency resources to deliver tangible results
" Extensive knowledge and understanding of internal communications discipline, practices and techniques, including strong working knowledge of communications platforms, channels, creative content generation, tone of voice, frequency and messaging.
" Strong understanding of the use of digital tools to deliver internal communications and to understand the internal employee environment and sentiment
" Proven experience in managing multi- discipline campaigns, manage competing issues, work with and through others, maintaining alignment with Microsoft strategic direction and goals
" Ability to effectively and efficiently plan, deliver and assess/report impact of internal comms campaigns, content and programmes, on time and to budget
" Respected as a highly valued partner to all relevant business groups and stakeholders
