Job Description:
As a Junior/Middleweight UX/UI Designer, you will work on large and small projects within the organisation; developing digital web platform solutions as well as internal platform solutions. The right candidate will be working alongside a wide range of UKAEA staff including the communications team, project sponsors, scientific, engineering and support staff. The role will provide the opportunity to be involved at all stages of the design process from concept through to delivery. You will work with others in our development team to help design new features, improve the user experience of our existing web platform solutions and help take these to the next level. The right candidate will be passionate about the user experience and will create compelling and engaging digital experiences across all platforms.

Qualifications Required: Degree level qualification or equivalent or minimum of three years commercial experience
Experience Required: Key Requirements:
• Strong flair for creative front-end web design and interaction.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience of HTML5 and CSS3.
• WordPress and other platform technologies.
• Ability to use WordPress plugins.
• Experience with cPanel, domains and DNS (desirable).
• Time Management and the ability to take ownership across each project with reporting on project/s progression via a weekly report.
• Work on multiple projects ensuring they are delivered on time and on budget.
• You will be able to communicate your ideas clearly and concisely through presentations and annotations, both internally and directly to clients.
• Deliver website design, landing pages and microsites for our clients.
• Design, implement, test and maintain websites, focusing on front-end design, interaction and usability.
• Updating websites, mainly using WordPress.
• Be able to take constructive feedback and iterate on designs to create a polished final product.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the ability to assess the possibilities and limitations of different technologies and create sites that will be innovative and front leading.
