Volunteer Cornwall has been funded by Cornwall Council to employ a Volunteer Co-ordinator to recruit and facilitate the training for parent volunteers to work alongside SCIP Workers within the Supporting Change in Partnership Service.

Volunteer Cornwall is a county-wide organisation, supporting the development of people and communities through voluntary action. Working with public and voluntary sector partners, this is an exciting post which is initially for 12 months.

Volunteer Co-ordinator

This part-time post for 18.75 hours (2½ days) per week

is based in Truro and attracts a salary of

£21,074 p.a. pro rata and an essential car user allowance of £600 p.a. pro rata

The postholder will recruit, support and develop a team of volunteers to deliver a solution focused, goal orientated service supporting disabled children, young people and their families.

They will work in partnership with Cornwall Council’s Disabled Children and Therapy Service (DCTS) as well as other partners, to ensure that disabled children and their families get the right volunteers to support them at the right time.

The successful applicant will have experience of managing volunteers, have a clear understanding of the needs of families with disabled children, have strong communication skills and a passion for making a difference to the lives of people.

Good I.T. skills are essential as is the ability to work as part of a wider team focused on improving health and care outcomes.

A willingness and ability to travel throughout Cornwall is essential.
