Our client is seeking to appoint an exceptionally effective and talented fundraiser to join their successful Development Office at a very exciting time. The main components of this job include face-to-face fundraising, managing a newly established six figure donor recognition society, organising inspiring campaign events and producing campaign communication materials. The post holder will be expected to do some international travel.

Founded in 1347, this college is a lively and friendly community, catering for approximately 70 academic staff and 650 undergraduate and graduate students. They recently launched their most ambitious capital campaign to raise £75 million. This is consequently a very important time for the Development Office and the Senior Development Officer will play a pivotal role in helping to achieve both fundraising and alumni engagement campaign goals.

The college's Development Office was set up in 1994 and is the longest established professional development operation in Cambridge. It provides circa 25% of the college’s annual operating income and it is the only office to have a Corporate Partnership Programme. The successful candidate would be joining a highly skilled, diverse team of 12 specialist development professionals who address all aspects of alumni relations, individual and corporate fundraising.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, outstanding planning and organisational abilities and be able to prioritise within a wide range of responsibilities. Enthusiasm for working both collaboratively and independently is a must. Ideally, the candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of development experience. Face-to-face fundraising experience will be an advantage. Candidates should have a strong belief in creating opportunities in higher education and understand why this is important.
