Care Farm Manager
Chailey Heritage Foundation are excited to be recruiting for a Care Farm Manager for our Patchwork Farm, a small animal care provision on site in North Chailey, East Sussex.
About Chailey Heritage Foundation
We have an international reputation for our work around communication and developing independence through powered mobility. Every year we support hundreds of children, young people and their families by providing a range of world-class services, especially catering for those with a neurological motor impairment, such as cerebral palsy.
Our aim is to provide a stimulating and inclusive environment where all young people are given every opportunity to make progress towards fulfilment and develop life skills in preparation for adulthood.
The charity encompasses Chailey Heritage School, Chailey Heritage Residential, Chailey Heritage Futures and Chailey Heritage Pathways.
The Patchwork Farm
Patchwork Farm is a therapeutic care farm that has been specially designed to allow the young people onsite to have a unique, hands on, multi-sensory experience with a number of different animals. The Patchwork Farm is also open for external schools and groups from the wider community to book educational sessions for a unique and exciting experience.
Our farm is home to a number of different animals including sheep, pigs, donkeys, goats, ducks and chickens.
To be successful in this role you have good working knowledge of animal care with experience gained working on a farm/care farm or small holding. You will be an excellent communicator who is able to share the vision and creativity of the Foundation. You will also have the ability to enthuse others to ensure that the quality of care, learning and delivery is of the highest standard.
You will manage and support a small team of dedicated staff.
This is a full time post working all year and will require flexibility in working hours which will include some evenings and weekends and being available for emergency on-call work.
