Road Safety Support - within primary schools
Location: Various Essex Locations
Contract: Temporary, as and When contract
Hours: As and when, can be flexible
Pay rate: GBP8.80 per hour
Exciting opportunities exist for a Road Safety Support Assistant, on an as and when basis, for Essex County Council (ECC).
The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with local schools to deliver the Essex County Council programme of road safety education. This will involve education to parents and children within the settings of educational establishments. You will be assigned a group of schools as close to your home location as possible, although you may be asked to work in other areas at organised educational events (mileage will be covered by ECC).
The post holder will need to hold first class communication skills as well as the ability to work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate would have previously worked in a similar role or within a customer facing environment.

• A good general standard of literacy and numeracy
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work with minimum of supervision.
• Full driving license, with business insurance included.

As part of employment with Essex County Council should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS Update Service.
Please note that Essex County Council has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and where a worker elects to provide their services through an intermediary (such as a personal services company) then income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
