Stanchester Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and hard working Learning Support Assistant to support students with SEN needs in the classroom. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a diverse and successful team, which works hard to enthuse students, instill high standards and promote personal development.

This is a temporary position until August 2019. The Learning Support Assistant will work 25 hours per week over 5 days from 8.45am to 2.50pm.  

 

Person specification

  • Ability to communicate professionally with young people and adults, work as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic knowledge of different special educational needs and how they impact on learning.
  • Previous experience of supporting young people through work or personal life.
  • Experience working with either SEMH or ASD students preferred but not essential

 

Learning Support Assistant duties

  • General support for teachers and aiding students with their learning.
  • Work with students who have special educational needs (SEN) including learning, physical, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties as directed.
  • Review progress of key students and work as part of a team to deliver individual programmes.
