A full-time position for a Catering Manager has become available in the canteen at a large distribution centre of one of our clients. Duties to include managing a small team of Canteen Assistants in the day to day running of the canteen facilities. Maintain excellent food hygiene practices and standards along with maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will report directly to the Site Efficiency Manager.

Hours of work are 38 hours per week which includes shift work and working some weekends. There will also be a requirement to assist with covering holidays and absence across all shifts, therefore, the ability to flex and work additional hours is essential.

Specific Experience/Qualifications Required
The ideal candidate will have an excellent attitude towards customer service with a friendly outgoing personality and used to working within a team environment. Work to legal compliance and due diligence within the framework of legal compliance (H & S, Food Safety, IOSH, HACCP). Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

We are really looking for someone who has past experience with cooking meals from scratch and not someone who has just worked with food preparation and pre-cooked meals. They need to have the ability to create menus and have experience of allergens and special dietary needs.

The current team will also need training and development, so a high level of patience and management experience is required.

Job Description
•Ensure products and services are marketed and promoted to generate sales
•Utilise reports & data to identify opportunities to improve departmental KPIs
•Ensure accurate accounting, banking and recording of daily takings
•Challenge under performance and recognise good performance in equal measure
•Work with peers to maintain the budget and service targets to agreed levels
•Direct your team to influence KPIs and reduce costs
•Ensure efficient ordering of stock and check supplies against invoices and delivery notes, raising and resolving anomalies appropriately
