Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Checker required:
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Checker of automotive manufacturing equipment: primarily welding jigs, fixtures, special purpose machines and robot cells.
Experience:
• Professional Qualification at a minimum;
• Tooling and equipment design experience for 10+ years;
• Special purpose Automotive Industry machines;
• Mechanical design, detailing, assembly drawing, bill of material and geometrical tolerances;
• Checking of designs of machined and fabricated components;
• Creation of sequence charts and pneumatic diagrams;
• Catia V5 solid modelling experience is essential;
• Awareness of project control via schedules, cost tracking and manpower allocation;
• Awareness of hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical control systems; and
• Demonstrated experiences of problem solving and implementation of successful countermeasures.
Additional:
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office;
• Good team member with solid communication skills are a must;
• Must be proactive, open and responsive to change;
• Ability to work under pressure and to a tight timescale;
• Experience in controlling, leading and supervising contractors and temporary staff would be an advantage;
• Willingness to work extra hours when required; and
• Flexible and adaptable to constantly changing requirements of the business (bank holiday, weekend working if required).
