Communications Officer - Quality Improvement and campaigns

GRADE: Band 5

HOURS OF WORK: 37 hours per week

Job Purpose

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this role supports the work of the communications team which extends to projects and campaigns for all services across the entire trust.

A key function of the role is to lead communications activity for our new Quality Improvement (Qi) programme and coordinate campaigns and events led by the Qi team.

This role requires the post holder to demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills, be proficient in the use of social media and possess exceptional organisational skills.

Our Quality Improvement Programme

The primary purpose of the Quality Improvement Programme is to transform our culture to one of continuous improvement which is delivered through participation of all staff in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a large number of 'Plan, Do, Study, Act' projects.

This is a new programme and launches in April 2018.

Overview of the Post


To work with the Qi project team to lead communications activity for the programme.

To work as a member of the communications team to support the delivery of company-wide communication plans.

Responsibilities

Proactively plan and deliver communications campaigns to support successful delivery of the Qi programme across organisation. This will involve regular production of content for e-bulletins/newsletters, internet, intranet and magazines and uploading these using content management systems.

Plan and deliver communications campaigns for specific projects within services across the trust including health awareness initiatives, recruitment and new service launches etc. This will require experience of designing publications, presentations and similar products.

Draft clear and engaging news features and articles and other styles of content for publication

Attend meetings and advise on effective campaigns and activities, coordinating work with rest of Communications Team

Use social media channels to promote Qi, recognising and responding quickly to opportunities.

Uploading content to the trust's websites and intranet using content management systems.

Develop and maintain a forward plan for internal communications activity for the year, ensuring an integrated approach across the trust, measuring and developing success of activities.

It will be necessary to gather competitive quotations and liaise with suppliers to order publications, printing and other products. It will also be necessary to raise purchase orders using our internal system and monitor stock.

Prioritising competing demands and managing own workload effectively to ensure commitments are met and deadlines achieved.

Undertaking research, surveys and audits as required.
