DHU Health Care CIC is a leading provider of urgent and emergency care and symbiotic services across the East Midlands with aspirations for growth nationally.The Organisation is in a period of consolidation and successful business development is essential to ensure sustainability. The Head of Partnership's and Business Development position will play a key role in the delivery of the business development function within DHU Health Care CIC working closely with the divisional management teams.The Head of Parternships and Business Development function will provide an effective customer-focused service, meeting the requirements of DHU Health Care CIC, its current partners and customers.The function will also need to evolve business and stakeholder relationships as DHU Health Care CIC evolves. The post holder is responsible for assisting the CEO in developing and implementing the Business Development Strategy and building a credible and consistent commercial offering from DHU Care CIC to its customers and stakeholders.They will support the ongoing development of the business model by identifying new services, markets and customers, with a clear framework for growth to enable the business to remain a sustainable operation.The post holder will work on key strategic programmes of work and be comfortable leading cross-departmental and multi-disciplinary delivery. The Head of Partnerships and Business Development will line manage the business development team, providing them with leadership, support and development.The organisation is a fluid and evolving environment and it is expected managers are able to cope with the ambiguity, work collaboratively in cross functional teams and manage multi interfaces and competing demands. ROLE SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES Support the CEO and Divisional MD's to drive innovation and insight to ensure DHU Health Care CIC is "leading-edge" in customer responsiveness of professional services regionally and nationwide and to ensure the successful delivery of multiple revenue-generating services lines. STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION ??Support the CEO in the development and implementation of DHU Health Care CIC's Business Development Strategy, working with the Executive and service leads on delivery, ensuring that plans are implemented to time, efficiency and a high standard. ??Lead and develop the DHU Health Care CIC's annual business plan supporting the Business Development Team and other contributors to create content aligned to the organisation's strategy.This includes developing indicators to measure the successful delivery of objectives. ??Ensure DHU Health Care CIC develops and maintains an excellent understanding of current and future commissioning intentions and patient needs, and their strategic context, ensuring services respond to patient needs and changes in the market place. ??Lead the development of successful bid responses to tendering exercises via a variety of formal and informal procurement routes. ??Work with the Executive Directors and service leads to evaluate with stakeholders how DHU Health Care CIC can offer support to identify and close gaps in their commissioning capabilities through generation of new business with potential and existing customers.This includes new initiatives and service development. ??Work in collaboration with the Finance Team and Financial Director in the development of the Bid Financial Model. ??Provide practical support and guidance to the Executive and bid teams in respect of the presentation process. ??Lead the development of new business through well-developed internal and external networks, building professional relationships with a range of stakeholders. ??Ensures the full capability d expertise of DHU Health Care CIC is harnesses through drawing in senior leadership, bringing together the insight from across the organisation and networking to understand the competitive landscape. ??Attend and support the Divisional Managing Directors at contract meetings in respect of current and new contract, supporting with negotiations. ??Attend Executive Meetings as and when required to update the Executive Board on Business Development opportunities. TEAM LEADERSHIP: ??Lead the Business Development Team, to include bid and project administrators and Business Development Graduate. ??Lead the evolution of the Business Development team so that it offers an excellent service, founded on intelligence and insight, to DHU Heath Care CIC as it evolves to support changes in the NHS.Use programmes and change management approaches to deliver initiatives to support this evolution. ??Ensure that the service is flexible and responsive to customer demand and requirements. ??Accountable as a senior manager for implementation of standard operating procedures. ??Deputise for the CEO at corporate meetings in respect of the Business Development agenda. RESEARCH, INFORMATON AND INTELLIGENCE ??Engage with key strategic regional and national policy makers to develop and review strategy and policies in line with best practice (and cascade to the team for implementation) ??Synthesis, analyse and present highly complex, high quality data to a variety of audiences and through a variety of media, including reporting on delivery of business targets/ ??Assist in the further development of DHU Heath Care CIC business, customer and stakeholder management information systems. * MSc or equivalent experience * Exposure to Boards and / NED's * Experience of supporting transformational programmes * Understanding of Organisational culture and performance * Provision of services in the healthcare industry in a senior role * Able to demonstrate a good understanding of operational delivery * Healthcare commissioning across a broad range of services, able to demonstrate a sound understanding of NHS sectors, specifically in the area of IUC * Proven track record in successful strategy development and implementation * Proven experience in both primary care and secondary care settings, with experience gained in an OOH environment * Able to create/shape innovative strategic vision for the best possible long term benefit of the organisation and patients * Exceptional communicator, able to create impact and demonstrate proactive customer relationship awareness * Understanding of the dynamics within a business arena and balance against political environment * Horizon scanning skills using a range of tools and techniques * The ability to successfully develop innovative solutions * The ability to gain buy in from stakeholders * The ability to present a range of information and adapt to meet different audiences requirements * The ability to build and develop new and existing partnerships and effective relationships with the Divisional Managing Directors * The ability to source, recommend and procure development funding
